If you are a skincare junkie like us, antioxidants got to be a must-have in your little corner.
Understanding the need for a better skincare routine, we scientists at AstaDermal spent years studying, making your life easier.
We are looking for something that, in a way, makes your money worth it. And we came up with AstaNano Technology™, a novel solution that makes the particle so small and absorbs like magic.
Are you curious?
Then keep on reading.
Perhaps you come across the off-market rumour that only 60% of your skincare can actually absorb, right? Not let to say if some shady products even have the 100 percent as they claimed themselves to be in the first place. So, unfortunately, you have been throwing away half of your money whenever you apply your daily skincare. That sounds bad, right?
But it is just a fact in the skincare industry. And we have to accept that those active compounds are just way too big to make their way through the pretty secure layers of our skin.
A study found that solvents like toluene, xylene, and methylene chloride were tested for skin absorption and showed an average skin absorption rate of 64%. The ability of solvents to disrupt the skin barrier means that their skin absorption is higher than most other compounds.
This means if the product uses these compounds, the actives will be absorbed better. And that seems to be the primary absorption mechanism of conventional products. But, did you see it? Those compounds are chemicals.
This means they can be harmful in the long run or, even worse, irritate your skin from the first use. And for most cases, allergy or irritation happens because of those solvents or preservatives.
So how can we tackle it then?
Our team at AstaDermal spent years meticulously studying to find a solution to answer that very question. And you know what? We got it.
Its name is AstaNano Technology™.
What is it then?
This novel technology utilizes natural astaxanthin encapsulated in nano-liposome to facilitate deep skin penetration and enhance astaxanthin release kinetics.
Sound too complicated?
Let us break it down for you.
When it comes to transdermal drug delivery in cosmetics, the skin barrier is the biggest challenge. (of course, just as we discussed before) And this new technique will make the active particle so tiny and skin-environment friendly that our skin will let it come through right away. Studies have found that liposomes with an average diameter greater than 600 nm cannot penetrate deep into the stratum corneum and remain mainly at the surface.
That is where most of your skincare is being washed away. (Without your consent, of course).
For dermal delivery, liposomes with an average diameter of less than 70 nm are a better option than those with a diameter of more than 300 nm.
We made it smaller, to an average diameter of 30 nm, providing the best option for transdermal delivery. So in this way, you will save most of your money and retain the beautiful glowy skin we all desire.
So your skincare got in, right? But the conventional method using solvent also got your active in.
What's the difference, then?
Your actives will have a bodyguard to protect their way to their ultimate destination. Where they actually do their job.
Hmm... Kinda confusing, right?
But in our body, we have some pretty annoying depending mechanisms that might contradict your skincare.
They will blindly fight your actives like some kind of stranger. (because they are)
This is when our new technology comes to the rescue.
With us, we use nanoliposome.
If you don't know, Liposomes are a transdermal delivery system that encapsulates active ingredients. This led to the creation of nanoparticles that help penetrate these products more profound into the layers of the skin.
In this way, active ingredients can be delivered to the area where cellulite forms, making a better chance for your actives to reach their target point. These nanoparticles thingy is famous for protecting encapsulated ingredients such as vitamin C. It helps prevent oxidation and the effects of exposure to UVA and UVB light while simultaneously providing nourishment to the skin.
So, in this way, our antioxidant will be able to do its job: boosting fibroblasts, enhancing collagen production, and improving skin cell respiration. Of course, those benefits include firming and tightening the skin to give it an ageless appearance and improving the texture and tone as we age.
Doesn't that sound great?
